I'm Kate Hardy and I write medical romances and Modern Heat romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon. Before M&B, I wrote rather raunchier novels for Headline and Black Lace - so if you love the kind of medical drama you see on TV, mixed with a bit of passion and a touch of danger, you'll definitely enjoy meeting my heroes and heroines!
I also write local history books as Pamela Brooks.
What's New In July/August?
I've just finished my 46th Mills and Boon, a Modern Heat set in Venice - awaiting my editor's verdict, and meanwhile working on #47, a Medical.
Personal appearances
- Wednesday 18 Aug (time tbc but likely to be 7pm), workshop on writing for Mills and Boon with Caroline Anderson at Diss library - tel 01379 642 609
New Books on Shelves
Fiction-wise, in the UK, you can get a copy of the first in the French duo, Red Wine and her Sexy Ex, from the Mills and Boon website (it's on the shelves on 20 Aug - and I love the cover, which includes the Eiffel Tower). You can also get Sold to the Highest Bidder, my RNA-shortlisted book, in the anthology 'Bought for His Bed'. In the US and Australia, you can get my 'second chances' neurosurgeon book, Neurosurgeon... and Mum! - be warned, it's a weepie! These are also available from The Book Depository (which has free worldwide postage).
My new history book will be out shortly in the UK: Essex Ghosts and Legends. The other non-fiction books are all still in print and available from good bookshops and online stores.
Other new books and works in progress
On the fiction front, I'm off on a research trip to Sorrento (am planning a Capri book next year) and then working on a new Medical Romance. You can follow the progress of these projects on my blog.
What's on the site?
You can find more information about my books, both novels and non-fiction - including reviews, excerpts and the stories behind the books. There's also a bit about me, a blog (aka my writing diary, which I update most weekdays - this is where to find the hottest news, reviews and what I'm working on, right as it all happens), tips for writers, and the food of love - a subject I'm quite passionate about! On my blog, you'll also find links for research (medical, local history and general writing), limbering up your writing brain (which my husband calls 'playing' - nooo, of course it's work) and other authors' blogs and websites, plus my favourite romance hangouts.
Enjoy your visit!
