I'm Kate Hardy and I write medical romances and Modern Heat romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon. Before M&B, I wrote rather raunchier novels for Headline and Black Lace - so if you love the kind of medical drama you see on TV, mixed with a bit of passion and a touch of danger, you'll definitely enjoy meeting my heroes and heroines!
I also write health books and local history books as Pamela Brooks.
What's New In June/July
I'm currently working on the revisions to my 40th Mills and Boon, a Modern Heat set in a fairground museum (aka my office romance - I have confessed now), and starting on my 41st, a Medical involving a GP and a neurosurgeon.
I'm also working on some non-fiction: 'Essex Ghosts and Legends' for Halsgrove, and my next book for Breedon, set in Norfolk.
New Books on Shelves
Fiction-wise, in the US, you can get the first part of the To Tame a Playboy duo Surrender to the Playboy Sheikh and I am THRILLED TO BITS because Romantic Times gave it a top pick in their reviews! (So it deserved the shouty capitals just now as it's my first ever Top Pick.) In Australia, the second in my "To Tame a Playboy" duo is on the shelves, Playboy Boss, Pregnancy of Passion. In the UK, you can still get some of my recent titles on the Mills and Boon website.
In addition to the fiction, I have two new history books out in the UK: Norfolk Miscellany (which is #1 in the Jarrolds Local Bestseller chart at the time of writing this) and Suffolk Ghosts and Legends. The other non-fiction books are all still in print and available from good bookshops and online stores.
Other new books and works in progress
On the fiction front, I'm working on a new Medical plus the nonfiction. You can follow the progress of these projects on my blog.
What's on the site?
You can find more information about my books, both novels and non-fiction - including reviews, excerpts and the stories behind the books. There's also a bit about me, a blog (aka my writing diary, which I update most days - this is where to find the hottest news, reviews and what I'm working on, right as it all happens), tips for writers, and the food of love - a subject I'm quite passionate about! On my blog, you'll also find links for research (medical, local history and general writing), limbering up your writing brain (which my husband calls 'playing' - nooo, of course it's work) and other authors' blogs and websites, plus my favourite romance hangouts.
Enjoy your visit!
