Suffolk Ghosts & Legends: Scandals, Sieges and Spooks
Halsgrove Ltd
June 2009
ISBN: 9781841148670
The book is about the stories behind the ruins of Suffolk - the castles and priories, and those who lived there.
You'll find out about the scandalous behaviour of the monks, the sieges in our castles and spooky stories - including Shuck, the black dog who terrorises the coast, and the most precisely recorded ghost in the UK (by George Orwell, no less).
The author: Pamela is a freelance author, historian and journalist who grew up in Norfolk and, following a degree in English, has lived in Norwich for over 20 years. She has written several books on the history of Norfolk and Norwich and also writes romantic fiction as Kate Hardy; she was shortlisted for Romantic Novelists' Association Romance Prize in 2006 and 2009, and won that prize in 2008. She lives with her husband, two children, a Springer spaniel, and too many books to count!
